10th Annual Goats, Music and More Festival

The festival that began in honor of those famous fainting goats of Marshall County returns for its 10^th year at Rock Creek Park in Lewisburg, TN on October 12 & 13, 2012 and this year’s lineup of goat shows, musical entertainment and activities for the whole family promises to draw crowds from all across the nation and beyond.

The Goats, Music and More Festival has been honored by the Southeast Tourism Society as a Top 20 Event for October twice with its unique southern flavor, top-notch free musical entertainment, goat shows that celebrate fainting and Boer goats, food of every description, arts and crafts and kids games and activities.

Coming to the stage this year will be more of the top-named acts that has made the festival such a hit with fans. On Friday night, The Bellamy Brothers take the Rock Creek Park stage delivering some of their famous country pop hits including “Let Your Love Flow”, “Redneck Girl”, “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body”, and more.

Saturday night features Wet Willie. Wet Willie first rolled onto the national music scene in the early 70s with its unique style of southern rock and blues. The band reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Charts with their smash hit, “Keep On Smilin’” and followed with a string of Billboard hits including “Country Side of Life”, “Everything Thing That’Cha Do (Will Come Back to You)”, “Leona”, “Weekend”, and more.

The music will keep the stage happening all day Friday and Saturday and all the musical events are free. So, bring a lawn chair and make room to dance the days and nights away.

The real stars of the festival take the show tents on Friday and Saturday with the Rock Creek Classic Myotonic Goat Show, the World Grand Champion Fainting Goat Show and 2 Boer Goat Shows.

Vendors of all kinds will line the road at Rock Creek Park beginning Friday morning with anything and everything from fainting goat memorabilia to unique and artistic trinkets of all kinds. There is always great food, arts and crafts, unique products and more along the Rock Creek Park venue.

And for the kids, the Goats, Music and More Festival features a whole section of games and activities from pony rides to rock wall climbing and the moon bounce. On Thursday, October 11, the kids get a special treat with the Kids Goat Rodeo. There are just so many fun activities you just have to come and see for yourself.

Free Live Music at Rock Creek Park This Saturday, September 17

As the summer heat winds its way toward fall, it is time once again to be thinking about the upcoming Goats, Music and More Festival and the Battle at Rock Creek.
The 3rd Annual Battle at Rock Creek battle of the bands competition takes the stage at Rock Creek Park on September 17 at 6:00 p.m. with four bands competing for a shot at claiming the title of the best band in Southern Middle Tennessee.
This year’s Battle at Rock Creek brings 10 bands to the stage for three Saturday nights beginning September 10 and continuing with three more bands each Saturday night ending September 24.
The winners will advance to the Semifinals on Thursday, October 6 at Rock Creek Park where the final four bands will compete for the chance to perform in the Finals on Friday, October 7 as the opening act for Country Music Superstar Lorrie Morgan.
This Saturday, four bands will take the stage to entertain and compete including Bad Habits, South of Somewhere and Theophilus. The bands’ music will feature country, rock and Christian rock and is sure to be another entertaining night of free live music.
Bring your lawn chairs, sit back and enjoy a night of free live music at the Battle of Rock Creek beginning at 6:00 p.m. on September 17 at the beautiful Rock Creek Park in downtown Lewisburg.

Come and Hear the Battle at Rock Creek 2011

The 3rd Annual Battle at Rock Creek battle of the bands competition returns to Rock Creek Park in Lewisburg starting in September and leading up to the Goats, Music and More Festival on Oct. 7, 8 and 9, 2011.

Last year, twelve bands from across the region competed for the chance to play as an opening act at the Goats, Music and More Festival with the winner, Ashley McBryde of Nashville, taking home the grand prize. This year, twelve more bands will compete for the Battle at Rock Creek title beginning with three bands on September 3 at Rock Creek Park in Lewisburg. The next three bands hit the stage on Sept. 10 followed by three more bands on Sept. 17 and the final three taking the stage on Sept. 24. All Battle at Rock Creek shows are free admission so just bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the music beginning at each night at 7 p.m.
There is still a few band slots left for any bands who would like the chance to compete. One band winner from each night of competition will advance to the Thursday, Oct. 6 show at Rock Creek Park for the semifinals. The two band winners from that night will open the Goats, Music and More Festival show on Friday, Oct. 7 for headliner and country music superstar Lorrie Morgan.

The winner of the Battle at Rock Creek will be announced following Lorrie Morgan’s performance and will win $2,000. The Battle at Rock Creek Runner-up band takes home $500.

The Battle at Rock Creek proved a fan favorite the last two years providing music in the park on a Saturday night for folks from Marshall and surrounding counties. If you didn’t catch the talent last year, come out on September 3, September 10, September 17 and September 24 to vote for your favorite as the Battle at Rock Creek winner.
