Goats, Music and More Festival: 2015

The festival that honors those famous “fainting” goats of Marshall County, Tennessee returns to Lewisburg, TN this October 9 and 10 with another great lineup of entertainment and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

On Friday, the festival really kicks into gear with Fainting (Myotonic) and Boer Goat shows, kids’ games and rides, arts and crafts, vendors, food and musical entertainment.

8-Time CCMA Entertainer of the Year and 5-time CCMA Female Vocalist of the Year Terri Clark takes the Goats, Music and More stage at Rock Creek Park on Friday night to close out the first full day of fun and events.

Terri Clark has made her mark on radio with more than twenty singles, including six Number Ones in Canada and the USA – hits such as such as “Better Things To Do,” “Poor Poor Pitiful Me,” “Girls Lie Too,” and “I Just Wanna Be Mad.”

She has sold over five million albums and achieved Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum, and Triple Platinum status as certified by the CRIA and RIAA. She also has the honor of being the only Canadian female artist to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Saturday night, Little Texas will hit the stage to bring the two-day festival to an entertaining close.

As part of the Young Country movement of the early ‘90s, Little Texas were responsible for shaking up the country music world with a new, energetic sound that fused the look and attitude of modern rock music with traditional country themes and styles, bringing a much appreciated bolt of life into the genre. For their efforts, country fans the world over richly rewarded the band, buying up over 7 million of their albums, while critics showered them with 3 Grammy nominations plus honors from both the Academy of Country Music (Vocal Group Of The Year) and the Country Music Association (Album Of The Year).

Their first radio release in 1991, “Some Guys Have All The Love,” became a Top-10 hit, as did their next single, “First Time For Everything.” After the album First Time For Everything was released, five singles reached the top of the charts. The second album, Big Time, truly was the big time for Little Texas.

The music is an all afternoon and evening event at the Goats, Music and More Festival and will feature a returning fan-favorite – The Entice Band of Nashville, TN. They have been entertaining audiences all over the United States and abroad for over 20 years. They are a 6-9 piece R&B/Motown/Funk/Country/Jazz band that plays everything from Frank Sinatra to The Blackeyed Peas and everything in between. You can catch the Entice Band Friday night on the Rock Creek Park Stage.

Opening up Saturday night will be singer/songwriter Michael Curtis and from American Idol – Garrett Miles.

Michael Curtis has written songs that have reached across genres with songs recorded by Country Music Artists and nominations for Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association. Curtis has written songs for numerous Grammy award-winning country artists including Randy Travis (Drive Another Nail), Ricky Skaggs (Father Knows Best), Lee Ann Womack (Get Up In The Name of Jesus), Sawyer Brown (Carpenter’s Son), and 7 of 10 songs on Marty Raybon’s solo CD release that was nominated for several Dove Awards.
